Attention, Strength Coaches!

“I was suffering from imposter syndrome. But after I read this book…”

***

Dear Fellow Strength Coach,

If you’re…

  • Confused about basic programming and don’t know where to begin…
  • Lacking confidence when it comes to exercise selection, or exercise order…
  • Stressed about which training split you should be using…
  • Mixed up on strength, power, or hypertrophy…
  • Embarrassed by not knowing which sets, reps, and percentages to use…
  • Exhausted after writing programs for hours…
  • Discouraged by your lack of coaching competence…

***

Then You’re In the Right Place! In This Book, You’ll Find…

  • How any coach can become competent with this manual because it makes great programming automatic
  • A simple process that eliminates doubt on both exercise selection, and order…
  • The truth about training splits—and chances are, it’s not what you think it is…
  • What methods work best for strength, power, and hypertrophy…
  • What never to do when using percentage-based programs, (unless you want to become a liability, that is)...
  • How to write programs in a fraction of the time so you can get your life back…
  • The reason why you’re not coaching with confidence—and how to fix it…

Let’s be honest. You’ve got enough on your plate as it is. You’re wearing multiple hats. You don’t deserve to deal with imposter syndrome. Which is why I wrote this book with you in mind…

My First Job Was Literally In Your Shoes...

I was fresh off an internship—wasn’t even certified yet—and hadn’t programmed for anyone outside of myself. And let’s be honest, running the same 5/3/1 template over and over again isn’t exactly “programming” (you’re laughing because you’ve been there yourself).

Next thing I knew, I was thrown into a job at a D-III school that ended up being a three-headed monster...

  • Football coach
  • Strength coach
  • Equipment manager

...on top of being in charge of transportation for the entire athletic department (with zero training on this by the way). And camp was only two-weeks away.

So yea, I know how it feels to wear multiple hats while having more expectations than bumper plates in a weight room.

I had two options: sink or swim. I chose the latter. Although I wouldn’t say what I was doing could be defined as “swimming” per se. No, what I was doing was more like fighting to keep my head above water before training camp.

Long story short: I figured it out, creating a successful—and most importantly, repeatable—system over the next seven-years that provided answers to the same questions you’re struggling with right now...

The Questions EVERY Strength Coach Needs Answers For…

  • How do I properly coach the lifts without my athletes thinking I’m a rambling idiot?
  • What is the process for properly cueing an exercise?
  • Am I progressing my athletes too quickly, or not fast enough?
  • How long should I keep an exercise in a program before replacing it?
  • When it comes to progressive overload, should I add reps, or weight?
  • How do I make my workouts “flow” better?
  • Why are my workouts taking so damn long?
  • Which exercises should I cut if I’m short on time?
  • What about in-season training—won’t they be too tired to lift?

***

The High Cost of Not Knowing The Answers to These Questions…

Without the answers to these questions, I was putting my career...and worse, my athletes...at serious risk.

  • It’s one thing to learn basic programming and earn a paycheck.
  • It’s another thing altogether to feel less worried about what you’re doing and be confident in explaining to them why you’re programming this way.
  • What I really wanted was to affirm my coaching competency by hitting the “essential few” exercises crucial to the success of the athlete. No fluff, no gimmicks, just sweat equity and performance results.

But I didn’t have the tools, or the resources to make that happen…

***

And It Wasn’t Easy…

  • I did what I did as an athlete, (sound familiar?).
  • I screwed up with trial and error, (not exactly a great strategy for job security).
  • I was doing too much, then I was doing too little, (the kids probably felt bad for me).

Thankfully, it didn’t take seven-years for me—and the athletes I work with—to find success. Sooner rather than later we started noticing:

  • Football injury rate down 50% the first year, (you read that right, five-zero percent).
    • “This is the healthiest my team has ever been.” (not a terrible thing for the Head Coach to tell ya).
    • 29 teams account for 600 athletes. Which is one third of the student population. And we churn them through workouts in less than 45-minutes, (by myself more often than not).
Here’s the inconvenient truth: in today’s fast-paced workplace, you better find results in your first year—and fast, or your next exit interview with the Head Coach might be your last. I am cringing as I type this, but it’s true. Then I thought to myself...***Maybe I Could Write The Guide I Never Had?And that’s why I wrote this new book for any Strength Coach wanting reassurance that they are Competent and Efficient with their programming.I’ve taken the lessons, processes, logistics, and long-term planning I developed over seven-years—without the trial and error—and built a system that has worked for hundreds of different coaches across the country. Now you can have access to all of them in my book, the Strength Training Program Design Manual. But first, let’s hear from three (of more than FIVE-HUNDRED) coaches who’ve already read it and are using what they learned in the book with their athletes…

Why This Book Is Worth It...

What do you make an hour? For the sake of time, let’s say twenty bucks.

How much time have you spent trying to defeat Imposter Syndrome and become a Confident and Competent Coach? Again, for the sake of time, let’s say one-hour per day for the past year.

One hour per day for the past year equals 365 hours.

Multiply that by your hourly wage, (twenty bucks) and you’ve spent $7,300 on your professional development only to be more confused than when you started...

What if you learned more with this book than you have all year?

Would you give me $49 if I gave you $7,300 in return?

What Are Your Options?

If you want to become a Confident and Competent Coach, you can…

  • Keep doing what you’re doing and gamble—and in some cases, cheat—your athletes’ development.
  • Try going at it alone and get all the books on Amazon about being a Strength Coach... and try to weave together enough knowledge from varying sources...many of whom can’t even relate to your specific situation.
  • Or you can invest a small amount in yourself...less than a dinner out...and get all the lessons over my seven-years cutting—without any of the mistakes—for only $49.

(the alternative is doing nothing, but the cost of doing nothing is much higher)

Or, you can make a decision right now, today, right here, to end all this imposter syndrome.

Here’s what I’ll do for you…

To help ease your way into this, I want to invite you to take advantage of...
